SEEKING SHIPPING-OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR INTERESTED IN FULL-TIME, LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY JOB PURPOSE: Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including steel cutting saw equipment used in the preparation for the shipment of the company's product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the overall operation of potentially large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line. Works from process sheets or written-verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must become familiar with all the products (part numbers, gauges, etc.) and how they are used and stored; Think and practice safety daily; Maintain equipment and machinery maintenance as assigned; Must be able to multi-task and cross train on a variety of machinery. Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. QUALIFICATIONS Experience, Competencies and Education High School diploma or equivalent; typically requires less than 1 year of related experience. As an Entry Level position, individual must demonstrate the ability to follow directions and work within the Shipping Department to learn the production process; Several tasks will be assigned to aid the Department that includes manual labor (lifting, stacking, pushing, etc. of heavy objects); Strong math, measurement, reading and comprehension skills; Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills; Ability to maintain positive attitude and be a strong team player; Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and-or interpret simple to moderately complex process sheets or written-verbal instruction and-or documents; Ability to understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions. Skill Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Job Complexity Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making. Supervision Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
