Sonoco Production Lead – 1st & 3rd Shifts (Plastic Injection Molding & Extrusion) in Logan, Utah

Position: Production Lead – 3rd Shift (Plastic Injection Molding & Extrusion)

Location: Logan, UT

Shift: We have openings on the First and Third shifts only

While reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for leading the third shift in Safety, Production and Quality. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

The work assignments may vary from day-to-day including but not limited to:

  • Guaranteeing the safety of yourself and coworkers

  • Always remaining knowledgeable, compliant and willing to hold others to all safety rules and policies.

  • Completing shift in Safety, Quality, and Production.

  • Completing appraisals of direct reports.

  • Giving direction and supervision to direct reports.

  • Startup of machines

  • Troubleshooting machines.

  • Basic machine and mold PM’s

  • Verifying quality systems and input quality data.

  • Utilizing scientific molding principles to maintain processes.

  • Completing material handling needs on shift.

  • Managing shift paperwork, work orders, production targets, and goals.

  • Assisting the maintenance, quality, and engineering departments as needed.

This position is in our Logan, UT plant.

  • We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven

  • You will need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, secondary education is preferred.

  • You must previous injection/molding and/or extrusion experience

  • Previous leadership and supervisory experience is preferred

  • You will need to have exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.

  • To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

  • Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.

  • You will need to have excellent math skills, English language and writing skills, basic mechanical skills and exceptional communication abilities.

  • You will need to have good computer skills familiar with Excel, Word, Windows, Internet, Email, etc.

  • Experience with SPC Quality Systems is preferred
