The Pictsweet Company Quality Systems Supervisor (Ogden, Utah) in Ogden, Utah

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently seeking a Quality Systems Supervisor to join the Quality team of our frozen vegetable processing facility in Ogden, UT. The Quality Systems Supervisor is a quality advocate for the plant, providing leadership for these systems and programs.

  • Responsible for ensuring and monitoring all quality systems in place for the production and storage of quality products manufactured at the Ogden facility.

  • Design, develop, implement and review quality procedures and training programs.

  • Promote quality and food safety culture throughout the facility.

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.

  • Must be strongly engaged in the process such as attending scheduled production meetings, daily product grading with management.

  • Work in coordination with Food Safety & Quality Systems Manager regarding FDA, USDA inspection activities and all other inspections such as BRC, and customer audits.

  • Responsible to perform weekly corporate review of quality systems and completes reporting requirements as required.

  • Perform regular quality audits of IQF purchased and sister plant products supplied to the Ogden facility and constructively report the evaluation results to appropriate management such as Director of Quality, Procurement and Plant Quality/Production Management.

  • Oversee plant staff of quality assurance associates. Train, mentor and develop staff employees in their required job duties. Must enforce company rules, such as attendance, food safety, production quality, safety, GMPs, and efficiency.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.

  • A practical understanding of food processing, sanitation systems, HACCP, GMP, and personnel management. This understanding is normally gained in 1-2 years food production experience.

  • An understanding of a basic mathematical reasoning and utilizing statistics in problem solving.

  • Ability to process large volumes of information, make decisions under pressure, and provide leadership in difficult situations.

  • Ability to develop and mentor subordinate employees for future responsibilities.
