Capstone Nutrition Team Captain in Ogden, Utah
Job Title: Team Captain Department: Operations Status: Non-Exempt Hourly Wage: $15-$19 (DOE) Shift: Swings (2pm-10pm) & Graves (10pm-6am)
Overview: The person in this position is responsible for guiding personnel in performing all production functions and duties.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads the personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
Ability to cover a single line.
Pull samples as directed from each line, as assigned, to assess quality levels by product.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment on the line assigned.
Shares responsibility for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the line assigned.
Proper use, care, and documentation exists of equipment and materials issued to work area.
Trains operators as required.
Develops a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
Organizes work for smooth operations, which includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
Verifies that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.
Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the current processes.
All other duties as assigned and needed to lead operations.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred; 3-4+ years or equivalent experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as GMP guidance, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to use and understand production and inventory control software and standard office software such as spreadsheets, e-mail, and word processors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Overall knowledge of manufacturing processes, material handling, production processes, and measurement equipment.
Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required.
Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes from the machines, odors, powders, dust and other particles.
