Job Summary

Provides software and hardware support for the College of Nursing faculty and students.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1.Operates computer equipment, provides basic computer operations and common operating systems usage for both hardware and software in multiple platforms.

2.Provides customer service and assists users with specialized software.

3.Creates ongoing reports and documents.

4.Notifies appropriate technical groups of errors or equipment malfunctions requiring more advanced troubleshooting and analysis.

Problem Solving

The computer operator is expected to be familiar with policies and to be able to properly apply policies. The computer operator performs basic hardware and software troubleshooting and assists customers with computer software and hardware devices. The position composes detailed problem reports when more advanced technical assistance is needed. When the computer operator determines the customer needs assistance outside the scope of their knowledge they will find an appropriate referral and assist in contacting that person. The computer operator will create ongoing KnowledgeBase articles based on troubleshooting steps.
