Identify and Implement advanced Manufacturing and Prototype methodologies for the TDW GPI organization. Plans and directs the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering personnel in the application of approved manufacturing engineering practices and procedures to promote timely production of products of high quality and low cost.
Finish the implementation of Manufacturing Engineering Skill metrics and assessments
Mentor and train manufacturing engineers in the use of continuous improvement tool (i.e., LSS and DFSS)
Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing management teams to improve quality, cycle time, and cost initiatives.
Develops and maintains a plan to evaluate and improve the overall manufacturing strategy. This strategic plan includes evaluation of manufacturing processes, justification of required equipment, design and manufacture of tooling fixtures and analysis of facilities changes to ensure a product of high quality and low cost is manufactured.
Acts as point of contact for Project Management and Engineering teams in order to provide thorough resolution Manufacturing and Supply Chain (Mfg/SC) concerns in relation to new product development,
Supports all new product technology programs as they transition from Development into Production by attending NextGate meetings, consulting Mfg/SC experts, and reporting Mfg/SC needs to Project Managers,
Participates in Mfg/SC meetings an appropriately escalates engineering needs,
Participates in ECO approval process, contributes to make vs. buy decisions,
Track and communicate status of new manufacturing and process projects both horizontally and vertically to all GPI personal as needed
Analyzes processes for improvement in safety, quality, and productivity,
Development of Testing/Monitoring for internal/external electro-mechanical assembly processes,
Works and communicates directly with Production personnel, Management, Engineering, Suppliers, and Operations,
Identifies and implements efficiency improvement opportunities through DFSS, LEAN, and 6 Sigma (DMAIC) programs,
Assists in and leads Advance Manufacturing and Product Realization (verification/validation) initiatives,
Assists in leading Quality initiatives (API, ISO, and internal QA process definitions)
BS in Engineering,
7+ years of electro-mechanical manufacturing and process improvement or related Experience,
Process improvement (e.g., DMAIC, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S) understanding preferred,
Ability to work and communicate closely with all levels of an organization, (direct and indirect personnel)
Strong analytical skills,
Basic application of Controls and Automation
