Maintenance Machinist Job Description: Fabricate from blue prints various components made of aluminum, mild steel, or stainless steel using stick, mig or tig welding techniques. Rebuild gearboxes, fans and other rotating equipment with no supervision. Machine OD & ID, cut threads, tapers, and mill keyways using manual lathes and mills. Requires moderate physical exertion, good dexterity, coordination and good vision. Frequently lifts upwards of 50 pounds and be able to climb stairs and ladders. Minimum Requirements: Must be able to perform tig, mig, and stick welding. Must be able to read welding blue prints and fabricate from these prints. Manual lathe and mill function. A minimum of 4 years documented work experience in industrial maintenance or completed a millwright apprenticeship, or a trade degree in related work.
